Complaint and Appeals - process for certification services
Definitions
Appeal - A request from the client for a new review of any decision made by the accredited inspection or certification body.
Complaint - Expression of dissatisfaction, other than an appeal, from an individual or organization regarding the activities performed by the accredited inspection and/or certification body.
Handling
The deadline for submitting a complaint or appeal is 3 weeks from the completion of certification and/or the certification decision. Synfaring will acknowledge and provide information about the process within 1 week of receiving the complaint and will handle the case within 30 working days.
To handle an appeal, Synfaring will appoint an impartial auditor/audit leader who has not previously participated in the audit or been involved in a certification decision, to review all audit documentation.
In the case of complaint handling, there will be a dialogue established with the client and relevant personnel from Synfaring to review the complaint. If necessary, Synfaring will conduct parts of the audit again.
No complaint or appeal handling action shall result in discriminatory actions against the complainant.
The complaint should be sent to post@synfaring.no
