Certification of a management system is valid for a period of three years, with the possibility of recertification. Annual follow-up (audit) of the certification is required.

Impartiality
Employees at Synfaring AS acknowledge that confidence of trust in inspection and certification of products and management systems is essential for the perception of an objective and impartial process. The company management is responsible for identifying and evaluating external conditions like financial issues, the relationship between client and auditor, ownership and other issues that can challenge the impartiality of any process, and to make sure that mechanisms considering impartiality are implemented according to requirements stated in NS-EN ISO/IEC 17021-1:2015 pkt. 4.2. and 5.2.
Synfaring AS has established an impartiality committee to assure that commercial- and other interests will not affect the process of an objective execution of certification activities. This committee consists of persons not employed at Synfaring AS. The management of Synfaring commits to make available all relevant information necessary to the committee for evaluating the impartiality.
Eco-Lighthouse
Eco-Lighthouse is a Norwegian environmental management certification scheme. It is a concrete certification tool and an efficient environmental management system designed to help businesses reduce their environmental impact, promote The Green Shift, and enhance competitiveness.
A company that chooses to become “Eco-Lighthouse” certified will be capable to meet new challenges and seize new opportunities in a rapidly changing work environment.
Synfaring has approved Eco-Lighthouse consultants who assist businesses in the process of becoming certified as an Eco-Lighthouse, as well as the option for a service agreement to maintain the certification.
