3D-scan and modelling
Structure – calculations
With respect to cranes and lifting equipment, we can provide the design, calculations and drawings for existing and new equipment.
We ensure that the equipment is designed, calculated and documented in accordance with relevant acts, regulations and standards.
We have the experience and software to perform global analyses (e.g. truss and beam analyses) as well as local analyses of details (e.g. lifting eyes/FEM analyses).
If so agreed with the client, we document all our work with drawings and reports.
Vessels – documentation
If you are missing any documentation for your vessel, we can help you with this.
We prepare e.g. GA drawings, fire and safety plans, freeboard plans and other drawings needed for the vessel.
Synfaring can also assist with inclining tests and displacement measurements.
These measurements must be witnessed by an enterprise approved for vessels less than 15 metres and by the Norwegian Maritime Authority for vessels greater than 15 metres.
We also perform stability calculations on the basis of drawings/models of vessels and the results of inclining tests and displacement measurements.
3D-imaging and laserscanning
Synfaring uses laser scanners for measurement and documentation in our own work and that of clients in relation to buildings, structures and vessels.
Laserscannings can be used to generate models of existing buildings for use in future renovation and modification work
We also use scanning to measure and model vessels that have incomplete or incorrect documentation. 3D-hull scanning in order to prepare line drawings has proved to be a popular service.
We also use 3D-scanning for adapting new components or structures to fit the existing environment.
Processing of existing scan data
3D-scanning has gradually become an integral part of the industry, and several companies have already had components or locations scanned.
In addition to performing the scanning itself, Synfaring has software and expertise to process existing scan data and can provide a range of services in this segment.
Synfaring can conduct analyses of scans, generate drawings and 3D-models based on scanned data, as well as verify the placement of components before the start of production.
We help create accurate 3D-models of objects that can be used for a variety of purposes.
Marine operations
Marine operations tend to be complicated. Good planning and documentation are important in terms of performing safe and effective operations.
Synfaring has many years of experience with the various types of operations and roles in the implementation phase.
We provide installation analyses and lifting analyses of structures, mooring and pipework, both above and below water. We also provide design and documentation of temporary structures, support frames and sea fastening.
As part of mobilisation for operations, we provide complete packages including installation of sea fastening, structures, NDT, load testing and documentation.
We also have personnel available in various roles (engineer, supervisor, client representative) to monitor projects offshore during installation work.
Mooring analyses
Synfaring has many years of experience with mooring systems, both for the oil industry, aquaculture industry and others.
We provide planning and analyses of vessels and rigs, and other objects which need to be secured in a fixed position.
In the aquaculture industry we provide mooring analyses for conventional facilities
(steel or plastic), feed barges and other new concepts.
We are accredited (Type A in accordance with ISO 17020) for these analyses.
