Floating and onshore aquaculture facilities
Synfaring is an accredited inspection body (type A) in accordance with the Norwegian regulations relating to technical requirements for fish farming installations (NYTEK23 regulations) and ISO/IEC 17020, and provides accredited services for the aquaculture industry.
Aquaculture – floating facilities
The Norwegian Regulations relating to technical requirements for fish farming installations (NYTEK23 regulations) and 9415:2021+AC:2024 stipulate requirements regarding technical standards for floating aquaculture facilities. The regulations also stipulate requirements stating that the inspection and certification of the facilities must be performed by accredited inspection bodies.
Alongside the other services we offer, we can provide fish farmers with a full package of technical inspections and certification.

Aquaculture – onshore facilities
Synfaring provides condition surveys and technical evacuation reports for onshore aquaculture facilities in accordance with the ‘Regulations relating to requirements for technical standards for onshore aquaculture facilities for fish’ (effective 1 January 2018).
We also assist with the preparation of floor plans and progress diagrams, as well as risk assessments for existing facilities, if these are not available.

Current measurements
By using advanced instruments we register the velocity and direction of the water over a defined period of time.
The registrations are being analysed and presented in a Current Report. This is being used e.g. to determine the forces applied on the components of the Floating Aquaculture Farm.
Measurement of current velocity on aquaculture locations are carried out in accordance with NS 9415:2021+AC:2024.
