GlobalG.A.P. - standards for sustainable aquaculture
As part of Synfaring's accredited services, we provide GlobalG.A.P. (Good Agricultural Practices) certification in aquaculture.
Synfaring is approved as a Certification Body (CB) by GlobalG.A.P. and the standards cover the entire production process from broodstock and eggs to the finished product.
We provide the following accredited services within GlobalG.A.P.
GlobalG.A.P. IFA V6
GlobalG.A.P. Chain of Custody (CoC)
In addition, we provide:
GlobalG.A.P. GRASP
GlobalG.A.P. Letter of Conformation (LoC)
GlobalG.A.P. NON-GM
GRASP - risk assessment on social practice
Good practices in aquaculture involve both people and products.
Through mapping and evaluation, producers can assess, improve, and demonstrate their social practices. GRASP is mandatory for all GlobalG.A.P. IFA certifications with or without QMS. The GRASP module is also conducted during all LoC (Chain of Custody) conformity assessments.
GRASP is a work management tool that focuses on:
Employee health, safety, and welfare.
Worker voice.
Information on human rights and labor rights.
Human and labor rights indicators.
Protection of children and young workers.
Risk assessments of different country practices.
GRASP covers the main topics of the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and the core conventions of the International Labor Organization (ILO).
A GRASP review ensures compliance and is conducted through:
Facility inspections
Interviews with management, employees, and/or employee representatives
Review of documentation
Chain of Custody (CoC)
The CoC standard specifies requirements for the separation of products (certified/uncertified), handling, and tracking of products in the supply chain.
The standard provides guidelines and ensures that products originating from GlobalG.A.P. certified production maintain traceability throughout the supply chain. Products derived from GlobalG.A.P. certified production processes should be traceable at every stage of the supply chain. The standard enhances transparency and integrity in the supply chain, providing added value and assurance to end-users.
LoC (Letter of Confirmation)
The new version, IFA V6.0 of the GlobalG.A.P. standard, imposes increased requirements for compliance with the standard for suppliers to certified aquaculture companies. The new IFA standard requires that conformity assessments be performed by an approved Certification Body (CB).
Synfaring actively works with subcontractors and offers conformity assessments against the GlobalG.A.P. IFA standard.
